Sigfrid represents the maximum design effort to exploit the full potential of the Valkyria Titanium and Pulsar Aluminum.
The project involved Rodolfo Papagna of Harmonya as electronic designer, engaging the Spirit staff for more than two years.
The fully dual mono hybrid circuit design involved several development phases
Operational speed
Valkyria and Pulsar are famous for their operating speed, and amplification was to be no less.
Low-range control
The Spirit sound is recognized for a very high quality, powerful and controlled low range capable of extending the dynamic range even in the most energetic parts of the audio signal.
Harmonic extension and richness
Twin Pulse designs equipped with the powerful Revolver drive are characterized by an uncommon ability to analyze.
The extremely high power-to-weight ratio of the Revolver drive allows the composition of the audio mastering process to be described and deconstructed in the minutest detail.

Operational silence
Another typical effect of the Valkyria and Pulsar power units is to maintain high acoustic resolution even at the limits of the audible, allowing you to perceive those valuable ambience contributions that our brain will process giving you the illusion of really being there.
Listening to the Valkyria system under sensory deprivation will give you the feeling of really being there where the music is born.

DISCOVER THE TECHNOLOGY SPRIT
Good design starts with sizing the foundation
Sigfrid has a dual mono circuit design with a filter capacitance of 79,200 uF consisting of small, extremely fast capacitors.
Two powerful toroidal transformers of 100W each power the precious signal boards, while a third transformer is dedicated to services.
Sigfrid is a concentrate of refinement and power
The secret of this amplifier lies in Harmonia's proprietary circuitry called the Voltage Amplifier Module, which allows the final solid-state amplifier section to work at high voltage, while the preamplifier section employs two triodes.
For Sigfrid, we also selected design features that maximize musical performance by excluding OP Amps and circuits with feedback.
These choices required us to select each electronic component to meet the requirements of silence and minimal distortion and redesigning strategic components such as voltage regulators from scratch.
Another important aspect of the design was the ALPS RK 50 armored potentiometer, which proved essential in achieving the desired performance.
The overall oversizing also allowed us to set up a dedicated section for speaker amplification, which, thanks to the black background-oriented development, offers a striking performance with the speakers.
The importance of details
The quest for perfection is a cyclical path of optimization that challenges every aspect of design.
Cabling management in the Sigfrid provided routes for the wiring that in addition to being minimized in size had to pass through safe areas to avoid triggering noise and hum.
For the power section it was immediately clear to us that we should go for the same wiring as in the Valkyria, which for the speaker section was doubled in size per section.
Spirit wiring is an integral part of the design
Valkyria's lightweight and very flexible wiring deserves a separate chapter. The precious signal is carried by a double-wiring structure, totally symmetrical, consisting of a perimeter braid composed of 16 pure silver cables and a coaxial copper core ofc cable per channel, developing a total of 36 cables that are soldered with silver tin directly to the revolver drives so as not to lose efficiency in carrying current.

You can't say you know your headphone thoroughly if you haven't listened to it in balanced ( separated ground connector)
Sigririd does not like compromises and driving the headphone in unbalanced, having an interdependence between the two drives is an aspect that although present in the pre-production examples, we wanted to eliminate in the final design, favoring the simultaneous listening of several headphones.
The terminations chosen are from the prestigious Viborg
Ever-evolving versatility
Sigfrid is just the beginning! in Spirit we are developing a series of electronics that will offer our audience different solutions.
VALKYRIA SYSTEM
When we talk in Spirit about the valkyria class system we mean an ecosystem of electronics and headphones made without compromise with the goal of setting a new standard in listening.
Sigfrid is a multifunctional development platform that provides not only the function of headphone amplification and speaker amplification, but also the provision of a preamplified output for two power monophonics and the accompaniment to a STREAMER /DAC.
Design and historical references
In designing Sigfrid Andrea Ricci wanted to pay homage to our city and the heroic acts of Pietro Micca.
Architecture in high fidelity
Tower development with ventilated walls and a vent stack makes the unit extremely efficient in cooling.
The choice of a vertical design with hints of the PC world includes a solid wood front and a large volume knob with the same conformation as the Pulsar's cup that conveys a unique tactile feeling.
A tritium vial will indicate the position of the knob even in the dark.
In silence you will be able to perceive every little sound detail thanks to a much wider dynamic range than the competition.
Our product are tuned like a musical instrument
When you listen to Spirit Torino headphones you will immediately realize one thing: the naturalness of the sound.
Many classical and jazz musicians collaborate in the development of our headphones to compare the real sound with our binaural recordings
A listening committee made up of Spirit technicians, musicians and audiences, periodically carry out direct comparisons during musical events promoted by Spirit to ensure that you are listening to a product that is dedicated to just music and not the result of market research.
